I am a psychodynamic counselor and coach  to adolescents, adults, couples and families.

I originally obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas in 1987.  I spent 4 years working with children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues.  I worked in private inpatient facilities, as well as state-funded community inpatient and outpatient health centers.  I came to the realization that I lacked the life experience and maturity to effectively meet people where they were and hold a safe space for them to heal and grow.  As such, I decided to leave the field.

Over the next 15 years, I obtained a law degree and a Master’s in business administration from the University of Cincinnati.  I worked first in law, later transitioning into business management.  I spent 7 years working for, co-owning and eventually running a private aviation company.  During this time, I also married and became the father of 3 children. In 2005, I sold my portion of the business.  I became a stay-at-home father to my children who were 3 ½, 2 and 6 months old, and have spent the last 12 years being their primary parent.  In 2016, we moved to Geneva, Switzerland, and I completed a Master in Counseling from The Family Institute at Northwestern University.

I have now come full circle in my passion and commitment to help people heal and grow.  Over the last 30 years, I have gained the life experience and education to work with people in various stages of life facing many types of challenges, adversity and transitions.   I have been married 25 years, am raising three adolescents, worked in different professions and industries and am in my second expat experience.  If you feel so inclined, I hope to have the opportunity to work with you on your journey towards meaning, connection and vitality.
